Rrrrrhubarb

I learned unexpected amounts about this delightful vegetable (actually named a fruit by many) today. We have a prehistoric looking large and leafy rhubarb plant in our backyard that has been there since move in. I fondly remembered the joys of rhubarb cobblers made lovingly by my mom and playing make believe under the massive leaves as a child. Turns out there's actually a full on rhubarb website. People are serious about their rhubies! Tomorrow for Mother's Day after church together, we'll steak it up on the barbecue, and whip up this inspired by our rhubarb. I can't wait to try it out. Perhaps childhood memories will come flooding back as I savor the mixture of rhubarb, strawberries, crumbly sweet oats, and warmth. Num!
