Cool Things I've Done

-married a Mexican, my best friend
-lived with roommates in an apartment
-backpacked in Costa Rica with my twin sis
-lived in Mexico for a month and volunteered at a church
-studied Spanish at language school in Mexico for 3 months
-helped build a house for Habitat for Humanity
-went on a missions trip to Chile (and spent a bit of time in Peru in travels)
-learned Spanish mostly fluently
-pursued a higher education
-skydived
-road tripped across the nation
-read the entire Chronicles of Narnia
-learned how to change plugs and light switches
-owned a home
-working on starting Safe Families in our home
-been an aunt
-gained my LMHC
-ridden bikes with my husband for fun like kids again
-been to England
-learned to play guitar, piano, trumpet
-started our own Bible study
-successfully waited until marriage
-become an experimental chef in the kitchen and concocted yummy recipes
-salsa, country, cumbia, bachata, merengue, line, swing, and hip hop danced
-traveled all over Mexico: Tepic, Puerto Vallarta, Cuernavaca, Veracruz, Puebla, Mexico City, Tajin, Xalapa
-attempted surfing
-mowed the lawn every other week
-bought skinny jeans
-experienced Disneyland and Disneyworld
-read the entire Bible
-traveled to the following states: Oregon, Idaho, Hawaii, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, New York, Colorado, Washington DC (left half of the States covered except Texas and the Dakotas...more to come for sure!)
-eaten a variety of adventurous foods including cow tongue, cow tail, tripe (stomach lining), and crunchy crickets
-helped kids for a career
-planned for a long-term mission trip
-been a leader for students in youth ministry
-owned two used cars in 10 years
-had my own office with a window, view of Mt. Rainier and Cascades, and a peek of the Sound
-attempted gym attendance at least 4 times a week every week
-committed my life to Jesus Christ

This is not a "toot my horn" list. It's to encourage myself to keep doing different and exciting and purposeful things so that I continue on growing and being a better person. What cool things have you done? It's fun to sit down and think about it. You realize there are definitely more, but they are hard to recall in one or two sittings! :)  Jesus doesn't want our lives to be boring! Live it up and love Him!
