Three weeks from 12:55am early this morning, I will depart for Costa Rica to savor the delicious foods of the land, traipse sandal-footed through sandy beaches with frothy waves, walk miles upon miles with a sweaty pack stuck to my backside, serenade my ears with the harmonious words of the Spanish language, and meet throngs of novel and fascinating members of the human race.
Last night my two other traveling compadres left the country to begin the exploration of the land of Costa Rica and perhaps Nicaragua and Panama as well. I pray them to have a safe and adventurous journey, chock full of wild memories, fantastic encounters with nature and people, and wisdom when faced with the millions of decisions sure to ensue on such a voyage.
