Sunshine in June

June is usually a pretty solidly rainy month, but we had some nice hot days this weekend and the 10-day forecast looks to be promising weather-wise. Hurrah! :) So to start that out other than the usual to-dos and such, we went to one of my fave old toddler parks in the Market street neighborhood of downtown Kirkland last week. They have a pea patch next door which is just cute. The entire park is probably a 100 yards by 100 yards so there isn't a corner you cannot see little ones in. Good for supervision! There is a wooden fence that surrounds the perimeter with a gate to close for keeping everyone reigned in. There's a large sandbox area for digging fun, an old truck to climb and pretend on, a tall metal slide, some swings, and a climber for smaller kiddies to enjoy as well as picnic tables and a grassy expanse in the middle. I used to take some of my favorite nanny kids there a few years ago because it was a 10 minute walk from their house, but I don't mind driving to it now. Once home it was nap time and that was about it for the day before a girlfriend had her birthday party at The Beach Cafe at Carillon Point. The weather was divine. Toasty, but not overwhelming heat. Blue skies, a perfect amount of breeze, and the birds chirping with delight.
