in the last year i find myself listening intently to what my brain does with itself in my slumbering hours--dreams. i am not going all Freudian on interpreting my dreams. i take their significance for what i know is going on in my life currently and for the randomness that exists within the dream world. i think it's fascinating stuff. sometimes my dreams are silly, just a story, or reflect my status in life.
last night, i did not like my dream.
i will say it was a nightmare for my psyche.
to another person this dream was probably just a story of a group of people in my life who were and are important, who hurt has been directed to as well as caused by, and a reflection of concerns i hold in my heart lately.
to me, this dream was so vivid and shaking that i spent my morning reeling from it's content. praying. interceding for those within the dream. pleading with God for those i feel the dream represents in my life.
i learned several things: 1) i felt that the dream importantly offered me a first-time feeling of what some of my actions in life have meant to others; 2) i was able to understand just how someone close to me feels in a state of despairing loneliness when abandoned by those who love you; 3) i was reminded to not take even those closest to me for granted and to not wallow in uncalled for and inaccurate insecurities.
though i felt so sad, unsettled, and even greatly desperate upon awakening this morning, i know that this dream was meant to be. there was purpose. it awakened me to prayers for others in need that i knew were in need and others that i perhaps was unaware needed intercession. it showed me aspects of life i didn't realize that i attribute some anxiety to. it revealed this whole verdant world of emotion that i have not associated with those i caused these emotions to personally so that my head is swirling with the reality of my actions and a new-found compassion.
thank You, God, for challenging and growing me, for stirring my heart towards intercessory action even in my sleeping hours.
