every so often it's interesting to discover what others really think of you. one of my fourteen-year-old clients has been telling me for weeks her favorite hobby. she's this animal-loving, artistic girl who is super creative. she's real into collaging and decopaging right now. during a session, she mentioned she was crafting a collage for me. clients sometimes say things like this and then i never hear back about it, so i didn't expect anything. imagine my surprise and delight when she brought in a collage she made that i thought was just to share, but was actually for me to keep and had been especially thought out for me personally. she explained at my asking that some of the words remind her of me. some of the words i like, some of them i am surprised by, some i don't understand how they fit me and maybe i don't want them to fit me, but several of the focal words brought a smile of pleasure to my face. here's what it says:
+a passion for the sea
+beauty
+then there's a large cut-out of two deep brown eyes. my eyes are green, but the girl has my coloring and freckles and my client said she thinks i have cool eyes like the picture, so i will take it
+memorable
+color
+fashion
+love
+to only polish the two toes sticking out of your peep toes
+chanel (i don't even own perfume)
i am still pondering what this all means as far as how she sees me, how i see me, and how Jesus sees me.
